About the Author
Stephanie McCann, MA, is an independent medical and scientific illustrator with 30 years of experience. She received an MA in Medical and Biological Illustration from The Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Fine Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is an instructor at Santa Barbara City College, currently teaching digital drawing (Multimedia Arts and Technology Department) and previously teaching biological illustration (Biology Department).
Joanne Tillotson, PhD, teaches undergraduate biology at Purchase College, State University of New York, where she has received the Pedagogy Award for innovative use of technology in the teaching laboratory and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Tillotson received her BS degree in Biology from the University of Dubuque and her PhD in Biochemistry from Michigan State University.

This set is not only better, but more relevant to our studies

I ordered when I saw another student in class who had bought her flashcards at Barnes & Noble. This set is not only better, but more relevant to our studies. When in study group, many of the other students wanted to return their flash cards and buy this set instead. So far...a great purchase.

Perfect!

I used these through my college classes Anatomy/Physiology 1 and 2, and I still use them as a resource in my Paramedic program to refresh myself. The pictures are detailed and the cards are neatly organized by organ system (integumentary, skeletal, nervous, ect), which is how most anatomy classes are taught. Just be aware that for the uncommon anatomy classes that are taught by body section (head, arms, torso, ect), you may have a tough time rearranging these cards for what you need. One small drawback - as someone else mentioned, there are some terms for certain structures that were named one thing in the cards and another in my textbook, and terms that were in my textbook but weren't included in the cards. This discrepancy didn't happen very often, though, and considering I used these as a study tool and not my primary learning resource, it didn't matter very much. Because I took an anatomy/physiology combination class, I would've liked a flashcard set that included both subjects. There was another flash card set on Amazon that had both, but these seemed to have nicer diagrams, and I don't regret going with this set.
These cards are a great study tool for nursing students, EMT/paramedic students, medical students - really just anyone who needs to know human anatomy. My classmates were very jealous of these cards! They're very valuable in getting you that good grade if you use them consistently! A tip for studying: incorporate these cards into your daily life. Quiz yourself on a card or two every time before you let yourself grab a drink of water, use the bathroom, or go to sleep, and quiz yourself on a few during TV commercials. And write down the terms as you quiz yourself so that when you check the answers, you can correct the spelling as needed - some professors are very picky about spelling! Good luck!

Must have for A&P

These are a life saver for A&P students. The cards are separated into different systems i.e. skeletal system, nervous system, endocrine system, reproductive system, etc., which makes them that much more helpful. Additionally, there are a few (10) coloring cards if your are more of a tactile learner. The cards are very detailed and have views from different angles (superior, mid-saggital, etc.). I am very pleased with this purchase and strongly suggest getting these for yourself if you want to excel in the course.
