Wojcicki is a living legend—this book is a window into why

Esther Wojcicki is a living legend in the education world, particularly in the fields of journalism and media arts. More than 600 students each year at her high school take classes in the journalism program that she founded, producing seven different student publications and a daily TV news broadcast. This real-world experience has produced some unbelievable results (James Franco, for example), and immense adulation from thousands of alumni in Silicon Valley and around the world.
For the first time, in this book, Wojcicki presents lessons from her blended learning experiences over the past three decades and shares ways that educators and administrators in other schools can implement similar programs. Blended learning gives students the opportunity to learn non-cognitive skills like persistence, empathy, determination and collaboration—all skills that cannot be learned from textbooks. I've been privileged to see Esther's work in action first-hand, and to read about it in this book. My biggest hope is that she writes another one soon!
